At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin’ I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so you’re back from outer space
I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second, you’d be back to bother me
Oh now go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
Cause you’re not welcome anymore
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
Did you think I’d crumble?
Did you think I’d lay down and die?
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m not gon give up (What?)
I’m not gon stop (What?)
I’m gon work harder (What?)
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m gonna make it (What?)
I will survive (What?)
Keep on survivin’ (What?)
Thought I couldn’t breathe without you
I’m inhaling
You thought I couldn’t see without you
Perfect vision
You thought I couldn’t last without you
But I’m lastin’
You thought that I would die without you
But I’m livin’
Thought that I would fail without you
But I’m on top
Thought it would be over by now
But it won’t stop
Thought that I would self destruct
But I’m still here
Even in my years to come
I’m still gon be here
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m not gon give up (What?)
I’m not gon stop (What?)
I’m gon work harder (What?)
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m gonna make it (What?)
I will survive (What?)
Keep on survivin’ (What?)
Oh no no I
I will survive
For as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live
And I’ve got all my love to give
I’ll survive
I will survive
Hey hey
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m not gon give up (What?)
I’m not gon stop (What?)
I’m gon work harder (What?)
I’m a survivor (What?)
I’m gonna make it (What?)
I will survive (What?)
Keep on survivin’ (What?)
I will survive.

No matter what this world throws at me.
I have tried you in fires of affliction;
I have taught your soul to grieve.
In the barren soil of your loneliness,
there I will plant my seed.
I have taught you the price of compassion;
you have stood before the grave.
Though my love can seem like a raging storm,
this is the love that saves.
Were you there when I raised up the mountains?
Can you guide the morning star?
Does the hawk take flight when you give command?
Why do you doubt my pow’r?
Holy darkness, blessed night,
heaven’s answer hidden from our sight.
As we await you, O God of silence,
we embrace your holy night.
In your deepest hour of darkness
I will give you wealth untold.
When the silence stills your spirit,
will my riches fill your soul.
As the watchman waits for morning,
and the bride awaits her groom,
so we wait to hear your footsteps
as we rest beneath your moon.

Be happy.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
We were out on a date in my daddy’s car
We hadn’t driven very far
There in the road, up straight ahead
A car was stalled, the engine was dead
I couldn’t stop, so I swerved to the right
I’ll never forget the sound that night
The screamin’ tires, the bustin’ glass
The painful scream that I heard last.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
When I woke up, the rain was pourin’ down
There were people standing all around
Something warm runnin’ in my eyes
But somehow I found my baby that night
I lifted her head, she looked at me and said
“Hold me darling just a little while.”
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I would miss
But now she’s gone, even though I hold her tight
I lost my love, my life, that night.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

All I could think of was how you should have been there with us, eating our favourite dishes.
And where the journey may lead you
May this prayer be your guide
Though it may take you so far away
Always remember your pride

This song has been playing on repeat for the entire week. Not because it has a fantastic tune, but because of its lyrics. The chorus, actually.
And where the journey of life may lead you, wherever you go, let (this) prayer be your guide. Though you may be far away from everything you know.. always remember your identity as a child of God.
It will pull you through.
Fatshe leso lea halalela.
Crazy pissed. I never said I wasn’t emailing them, I never said I wasn’t gonna do anything about it. I appreciate your reminder. I just didn’t need it blasted in my face over and over again. Seriously, I wouldn’t have walked off if you had stopped after telling me what I should put in the letter. It was round 2 for the day and I just didn’t need you to keep reminding me of all the opportunities I missed and how I ‘wasted’ my entire holiday. You know what, I think spending time with gramps wasn’t wasting my time. Going to the hospital, sitting in the waiting room, spending time in her house just trying to get water to cool, all that wasn’t a freaking waste of time.
On another (random) note, a song that’s been stuck in my head for the past few days.
At first we started out real cool,
Taking me places I ain’t never been
But now your getting comfortable
Ain’t doing those things that you did no more
Your slowly makin me pay for things
Your money should be handling
And now you ask to use my car
Drive it all day and don’t fill up the tank
And you have the audacity
To even come and step to me
And ask to hold some money from me
Until you get your check next week
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
A baller, when times get hard he’s the one to help me out
Instead of, a scrub like you who don’t know what a man’s about
Can you pay my bills
Can you pay my telephone bills
Can you pay my automo’bills
Then maybe we can chill
I don’t think you do
So you and me are through
Now you been maxing out my card
Give me bad credit, buying gifts with my own ends
Haven’t paid the first bill
But you steady heading to the mall
Going on shopping sprees
Perpetrating to your friends that you be ballin’
And then you use my cell phone
Calling who ever that you think at home
And when the bill comes all of a sudden you be acting dumb
Don’t know where none of these calls come from
When your mamma’s numbers here more than once
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
A baller, when times get hard he’s the one to help me out
Instead of, a scrub like you who don’t know what a man’s about
Can you pay my bills
Can you pay my telephone bills
Can you pay my automo’bills
Then maybe we can chill
I don’t think you do
So you and me are through
Can you pay my bills
Can you pay my telephone bills
Can you pay my automo’bills
Then maybe we can chill
I don’t think you do
So you and me are through
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
You triflin’, good for nothing type of brother
Silly me, why haven’t I found another
Can you pay my bills
Can you pay my telephone bills
Can you pay my automo’bills
Then maybe we can chill
I don’t think you do

Can you pay my bills

So you and me are through
Can you pay my bills
Can you pay my telephone bills
Can you pay my automo’bills
Then maybe we can chill
I don’t think you do
So you and me are through
It doesn’t matter if you love him or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
‘Cause you were born this way, baby
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
There’s nothin’ wrong with lovin’ who you are
She said, ‘cause He made you perfect, babe
So hold your head up, girl and you you’ll go far
Listen to me when I say
I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way, born this way
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be
Give yourself prudence and love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice of truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M
I love my life, I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah
I’m beautiful in my way,
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way
Don’t be drag, just be a queen
Whether you’re broke or evergreen
You’re black, white, beige, chola descent
You’re Lebanese, you’re orient
Whether life’s disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
‘Cause baby, you were born this way
No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave
I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way, yeah
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
Ooh, there ain’t no other way, baby, I was born this way
I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way
I was born this way, hey
I was born this way, hey
I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way, hey
I was born this way, hey
I was born this way, hey
I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way, hey
Hello my dear SOWers!
LOL Stephen, your P.S message put a smile on my face! Claire passed us the SOW’11 group photo and showed us the video that some of you made and that she compiled for Cas’ birthday, and oh my goodness! It reawakened me missing you guys so much! I feel so blessed to know you…
Well all I want to say is that I love this version of the Lord is my shepherd (you have to read the original post and scroll down a bit). And I have no idea how to reply to this post so I just reblogged it :X
I fell in love with you watching Casablanca
Back row of the drive in show in the flickering light
Popcorn and cokes beneath the stars became champagne and caviar
Making love on a long hot summer’s night
I thought you fell in love with me watching Casablanca
Holding hands ‘neath the paddle fans in Rick’s candle lit cafe
Hiding in the shadows from the spies, moroccan moonlight in your eyes
Making magic at the movies in my old Chevrolet
Oh! A kiss is still a kiss in Casablanca
But a kiss is not a kiss without your sigh
Please come back to me in Casablanca
I love you more and more each day as time goes by
I guess there’re many broken hearts in Casablanca
You know I’ve never really been there, so I don’t know
I guess our love story will never be seen on the big wide silver screen
But it hurt just as bad when I had to watch you go
Oh! A kiss is still a kiss in Casablanca
But a kiss is not a kiss without your sigh
Please come back to me in Casablanca
I love you more and more each day as time goes by
Oh! A kiss is still a kiss in Casablanca
But a kiss is not a kiss without your sigh
Please come back to me in Casablanca
I love you more and more each day as time goes by
I love you more and more each day as time goes by
